
Ray started playing on the North London folk scene in the late sixties at the legendary Enfield Folk Club and was writing songs pretty much immediately from then on. He's appeared at various infamous London venues such as Bunjies and The Troubador. He flirted briefly with Traditional English Song during a period of residency at the Hoddesdon Folk Club where he became a mascot for the Hoddesdon Crownsmen dancers. Resulting from this was a brief tour
