A curious tale, the Raw Holly moniker disguised the identity of the band New York Public Library, which was in itself a reconfiguration of the Leeds, United Kingdom-based group The Cherokees, featuring founding members Tez Stokes (guitar) and David Bower (bass). As Raw Holly they released just one eponymous LP in 1971.
