Late Pt Raghunath Prasanna (1913-1999): A Flautist Par Excellence Pt. Raghunath Prasanna was born in 1913 in Varanasi, UP in a family, which was renowned for Shehnai playing for more than 300 years and had given sterling performances in the courts of Rajas and Maharajas. Pt Raghunath Prasanna received his training in Shehnai under his father Pt Gauri Shankar and under his guru, Pt Dauji Mishr. He not only continued with the family tradition of Shehnai playing but also took it to new heights of excellence.
