
New York City indie band 'Pontoons' got their start in early 1991, when singer-guitarist Tom Hunt began writing songs and founded the group, which featured Tony Skutnik on bass and Christian Harper on drums. Distribution of Hunt’s home recordings helped establish a strong fan base for the band’s early shows in Manhattan at venues such as The Mercury Lounge, Continental, Brownies, and the legendary CBGBs.
