About Philisteens
The Philisteens were a short-lived power pop and new wave band from Albuquerque, New Mexico, active in the early 1980s. They released a self-titled LP in 1982 on the independent label Radio Free America. Their music combined energetic punk-inspired rhythms with melodic guitar lines and quirky, offbeat lyrics, drawing comparisons to acts like The Knack and early Talking Heads. The group was fronted by Larry Otis and became known locally for their dynamic live shows.
