Peter has been writing songs since his days in a proto-punk band in Leeds in the seventies. He's lost track of how many songs he's composed, but the total is 'somewhere up in the hundreds'. During the 1980's he played in The Guild - a rock covers band (a.k.a. The Guild of Thieves) - and, with Andy Scholey, in nu-folk duo Eat the Peach (a.k.a. Suburban Strum). The highlight of his early career was when Eat the Peach played the Amnesty International 'Festival of Youth' at Milton Keynes Bowl
