Pete Cummins was born in Dublin Ireland in 1946 and was an avid fan on popular music of the day. When the rock and roll from America reached Ireland he was hooked and in 1964 he bought his first guitar and started a group with school friends Alan Cullen and Dots Gorman. The band was called The Stepping Stones and they started to play the local hops and beat clubs and then changed their name to The Circle. Pete also started another band called The Grass Band and studied flute and music theory at The Royal Academy of Music in Dublin.
