About Pauni Trio
The Pauni Trio consists of Iris Ficker (soprano), Juliëtte van Dijk (mezzo-soprano), and Mariëlle de Winter (soprano). The three Dutch singers first met each other in a Bulgarian project choir under the artistic leadership of Galina Durmushliyska (the voice of Dobrudzha), and conductor Rineke Marwitz. The mystery unravelled Is it really true that Bulgarian singers sing with a double voice? Has it got something to do with overtones? Does one need a Bulgarian grandmother to learn it?
