Paul Kelly and The Messengers were the 1980s unit that first brought prominence to their leader, one of Australia's finest singer-songwriters. Since their demise, Paul Kelly has generally pursued a more acoustic direction, including many tours in which he plays solo and recent recordings with the likes of a bluegrass band.
