About Partho Das
Partho Das is a musician of many dimensions. He is a soloist sensitive to the nuances of his instrument, the sitar. He spent his early years at the Ali Akbar College of Music, Calcutta, learning the sitar from Ustad Bahadur Hussain Khan, Ustad Ali Akbar Khan and Professor Nikhil Banerjee. Later, he spent six years under the tutelage of Prof. Santosh Kumar Banerjee of the Rabindra Bharati University. Partho's delicate touch is typical of the Senia Gharana.
