Paramaecium is one of the few christian death doom bands out there, and released their first album, Exhumed of the Earth, in 1993. The music is in the vein of early My Dying Bride, with surging, heavy riffs, and some occasional use of violin, flutes and female clean vocals. In 1993 Paramaecium released their debut album. The band consisted of Andrew Tompkins on vocals and bass, Jason De Ron on guitar, and Jayson Sherlock on drums. The music was inspired by Cathedral, early My Dying Bride and Anathema.
