About Paintings of Ships
Paintings of Ships are a trio from North London, formed in early 2009, who offer up a heartfelt, poppy, nautically tinged kind of grungey, melodic indie. Londoner Daniel Clancy (vocals and guitar) formed the band with Northerner Catherine Wilson, previously of St Elmo's Fire, on (bass and vocals). They went for the geographical middle ground when choosing Midlander Matt Hill, of Faster and Port Sunlight, on drums. Paintings of Ships played their first show at The Brief in Croydon in June 2009
