About Oratnitsa
The name Oratnitza refers to a ritual cleansing by fire, performed before ‘Shrovetide’. The style is even more unusual - a mixture of Bulgarian folklore, Aboriginal motifs (executed on didgeridoo), dubstep, drum ‘n’ bass and religious chanting. The band started as a collective of street musicians, but their musical quality soon got them on stage of numerous Bulagrian music clubs. In February 2010 they won the Sofia Fusion Rally. The trancy, sweeping rhythms of their music invite the audience on a collective musical voyage.
