On the Stairs is a prayer, sung in the spiritual employ of the American song. Started in 2009 by Nate Clark - guitarist for Leonard Mynx and formerly of Les Flaneurs - in Portland, OR, it has drawn a wide variety of comparisons to artists such as Leonard Cohen, Bill Callahan, Johnny Cash, Damien Jurado, and Paul Simon. Its first full length, Beyond a Shadow of a Doubt, was released in April 2010 to critical praise. Recorded with Skyler Norwood at Miracle Lake Recording and with Adam Selzer at Type Foundry Studios
