About Omid Lotfi
Omid Kamkar Lotfi (b. 1977, Tehran) is a Kurdish setar, tar, divan and daf player from Iran. He tours the world as a member of Kamkaran, an Kurdish group, founded by his six uncles, and his mother. He is also member of a classical Persian ensemble and he has toured with his musician father, Mohammad Reza Lotfi, too. In the last 9 years, Omid has increasingly become recognized as a solo performer and one of the greatest living heir to Kurdistan’s an Iran's illustrious Setar tradition.
