About Old Kent Road
Formed in late 2005, punk rock band Old Kent Road have spent much of 2006 feverishly gigging across their hometown of Sydney. With a band name hijacked directly from the Monopoly board the band take their influences from the American punk rock tradition (think NOFX, Against Me! and Alkaline Trio) but still maintain a uniquely Australian perspective and sound. The result is an exciting mix of galloping rhythms, frenetic drumming and distinct vocals, delivering introspective lyrics often foreign to the punk rock genre.
