About Noriko Kawakami
Noriko Kawakami was born in 1955 in Ehime, Japan, studied composition with Ryohei Hirose at the Kunitachi Academy of Music in Tokyo. This was followed by studies with Klaus Huber in Freiburg in 1987/88 and with Nicolaus A. Huber at the Folkwang Hochschule in Essen in 1988-91. In 1994 she attended a master class with James Dillon in Gothenburg/Sweden. In 1995/96 she lived in Paris as a freelance composer. She is particularly interested in the inner life of sound and its processing with modern sound techniques.
