Initially active mainly in the 1980s and 1990s, NoiseFactory is one of several aliases used by Mike S. (aka Alch), an early enthusiast in the development of the lo-fi synthetic folk genre. Since 2000 his work has focussed more directly on pure electronica, though a new album scheduled for release in 2012 is expected to feature a return to the use of early synths and English traditional song.
