About Niels Van Hoorn
Niels Van Hoorn(blower) is the master of wind instruments for The Legendary Pink Dots. He is easily one of the most approachable and fun members of the band. During LPD shows he often walks into the crowd playing his sax. A sound-activated light in the bell shines into the faces of fans as he passes by. On-stage Niels plays anything from flute, sax (all forms, often 2 at a time), bass clarinet and his trademark Steiner wind synth. He has been a staple in the Dots line-up since around 1989.
