Emerging as a new voice on the Seattle music scene, saxophonist Neil Welch works to extend the boundaries of improvised music. Never defined by a singular approach to creation, his music is inclusive of many different sound concepts. Influenced heavily by John Coltrane (his musical father), Pharaoh Sanders, Albert Ayler, Sonny Rollins, Bjork, Sigur Ros, Radiohead, Jan Garbarek, Zakir Hussein, Ravi Shankar, and countless others, Neil is a gracious student of the musical universe.
