
Mokkapati Nageswara Rao Vína (or veena) player of the Carnatic style. Born December 20, 1926, died in 1993. Studied with Behta Rajarao, Sivanandam, Kalayanakrishna Bhagavatar and Narayana Iyengar. He was one of the first artists to popularize Carnatic music in North America, having taught its forms and techniques in the United States in the 1960s. He later moved to Paris where he established a school of classical Indian music.
