About Mucous Membrane
Mucous Membrane (1977-1979) were a minor punk band founded by songwriters John Constantine and Gary Lester. They played all over the UK, most notably at The Casanova Club in Newcastle, but mostly in London. They had one single, 'Venus of the Hardsell' for which a music video was made, but it didn't do well. Mucous Membrane are now largely forgotten, though the band's rumoured connections with the occult have proved to be of interest to journalists and documentary makers. Mucous Membrane is portrayed by Spiderlegs.
