Moussa Ngom (also spelled Moussa N'Gom) was a Senegambian musician and a member of popular mbalax bands, such as Guelewar of Banjul and Super Diamono de Dakar. Born in Fatoto, Gambia, he founded the former with his brother Laaye Ngom (also known as Abdel Kabirr) and soon gained cult status in the region, before joining moving to Dakar and joining Super Diamono in 1985. During this time Ngom was a major figure in Senegal, and the only singer to really rival Youssou N’Dour in terms of popularity.
