Mortezā Mahjoubi (Persian: مرتضی محجوبی) (b. 1900 – d. March 21, 1965) was a celebrated Iranian pianist. Morteza Mahjoubi was born in 1900 in Tehran, Iran. His father, Abbas Ali Mahjoubi, played the ney. The family owned one of the few pianos in the city, and his mother, Fakhressadat, could play a little. He started his music studies with Hossein Hang Afarin; later, Mahmoud Mofakham accepted him as his student. Morteza was only ten years old when he accompanied Aref Qazvini, the renowned singer and poet, in a concert.
