About Mohona
Mohona is Bengali for where the great rivers meet the ocean. Likewise the band are a confluence of diverse musical tributaries, rivulets and currents. The band consists of: Andrew Purdam — Decades of experience accompanying diverse dance and performance artists, from Indian and middle Eastern percussion to Greek accordion, Irish bouzouki and Bulgarian voice. Influences include Igor Stravinsky, Ayub Ogada, Jimi Hendrix, Nikhil Ghosh and bushwalking.
