About Miyazawa
Kazufumi Miyazawa (宮沢和史)is the founder of the popular Japanese/Okinawan band Boom, known for their fusion of local folk with rock and pop sounds in the 1980s. This is Miyazawa's fifth solo recording since leaving the band. He blends funk, folk and jazz from Africa, Brazil, and of course, Japan and Okinawa. There are touches of traditional instruments and melodies from Okinawa, but they are only a small part of a much larger global attitude.
