Mimi Nari is a noise sculptor who produces soundscapes reflecting her emotional states and the decay she sees around her. She has been influenced greatly by research into EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomenon). Many of the works on her first album, The Noise In My Ear, seem to have voices present, but no vocals or voice samples were used. Another major influence was the story Angerhelm, by Cordwainer Smith, which tells of a recording found to contain a message from beyond the grave.
