With his ripping articulation and searing sound, Mike Osborne was one of the most original and gifted of British alto saxophone players. He epitomised the British jazz musicians who finally emerged in the sixties to stand toe-to-toe with their American counterparts. Perhaps most noteworthy for his contributions as a member to Chris McGregor's Brotherhood of Breath in the 1960s and 1970s.
