Miguel da Fonseca, also called Manuel da Fonseca, (15th or 16th century – 16th century; active 1540-1544) was a Portuguese Renaissance composer. Fonseca was the first known by name - though arguably not the first - conductor of the Cathedral of Braga in the first half of the 1540s. He was probably appointed to this position by Archbishop Henrique . He probably also worked for his successor bishops Diogo II da Silva (1540/41) and Dom Duarte (1542/43), the illegitimate son of the Portuguese King John III.
