Born 1568(?), Rensburg, Hollshtein - killed in 1622, Magdeburg. Contemporary of Don Carlo Gesualdo, and claimed by many - perhaps, unreasonably - to be as weird in his music as count of Gonza was, one of the two - and the only unvoluntary - spiritual fathers of Rosicrucian brotherhood (which in turn became unconscious precursors of all modern mason brotherhoods), mystic, germetist, aesculapian, alchemist and affluent nobleman in the court of Emperor Rudolf II.
