About Michael Hegeman
Born in 1966 in Grand Forks, ND on a blizzardy night in December. Grew up on the Kwajalein Atoll in the Marshall Islands. Lived in Boston in the 70's. Moved to AZ in '78. Studied music education in college. Began composing around 1990. Went to Princeton to go to seminary in ''93. Stayed 13 years. Was composer in residence for the Lauda! Chamber Singers for 10 years (1997-2006) in NJ. Lives now in Phoenix. Sings with the Phoenix Symphony Chorus. Writes music when he feels like it. Favorite composer: Guillaume DuFay (1400's).
