
Michael G. Coleman was a Chicago blues guitarist who was the guitarist for the legendary harpist James Cotton's band for about ten years, starting in 1979. During his time with Cotton, he played on several of the band's albums and was part of the Grammy-nominated Harp Attack! album. After leaving Cotton's band, Coleman launched a successful solo career and worked with other artists like Eddy Clearwater and Syl Johnson. Time with James Cotton: Coleman joined James Cotton's band in 1979 at age 23 and stayed with him for seven to ten years.
