About Menster Phip And the Phipsters
Menster Phip and the Phipsters were a home-brewed basement combo fueled by Phip's four-string electric tenor guitar, his brother bashing the daylights out of a drum set, their father on washtub bass and anybody else that wanted to join in the mayhem. Home-made tapes recorded in 1963 survived, finding a home with Telstar Records, and the results are not quite like anything you've ever heard. Just about everything on here in is in the same key, with the same gum-chewing, go-for-broke tempo, with all subtleties be dammed.
