Melvyn Martin is best known for his role in the Jean-Pierre Melville film Les Enfants Terribles as a rich, young, Jewish American businessman named Michael. When he dies in a car crash shortly after his wedding with antangonist Elisabeth, she inherits his fortune and mansion, as that is why she married him. Melvyn Martin wrote one song for the score of the film, 'Were You Smiling At Me?' which was written, composed and performed by himself. This song is played during a scene where Michael is sat at a piano with Elisabeth listening behind him.
