About MC Kadilida
MC Kadilida (a.k.a. MC Card Reader) is a Tanzanian Singeli MC. Singeli is frenetic 180-300 BPM electronic music which has been described as ‘African gabber’. Kadilida used to sing R&B and Bongo Flava before she joined the Singeli scene. She MCs in Swahili about “street style, our local lifestyle”, and both “problems and happiness”. She has collaborated with Jay Mitta, and is associated with the Nyege Nyege Tapes label, having performed at the Nyege Nyege festival in Uganda in 2019.
