About Maurice Vander
Maurice Vander (11 June 1929 - 16 February 2017) was a French jazz and film music pianist, arranger and composer. Born Maurice Camille Gustave Vanderschueren in Vitry-sur-Seine (Val-de-Marne), Maurice Vander worked for a long time with Claude Nougaro and with other European and American jazzmen, like Django Reinhardt, Serge Gainsbourg and Benny Carter, among others. He is the adoptive father of the drummer Christian Vander. He died in Paris, France on 16 February 2017.
