About Matthias de Sayve

Matthias de Saive the Elder (Mathieu de Saive; * c. 1540–50 Liège ( Belgium )?; † 1619 [before 1621] Bohemia?) was a singer and composer and briefly court music director to Archbishop Wolf Dietrich von Raitenau . Mathias de Saive was the brother of the composer Lambert de Saive. He worked at least from 1571 to 1588 as sub-cantor at the church of Saint Martin-en-Mont in Liège. Later he was deputy choir master at the Imperial Court Music Orchestra in Vienna.
