Matthew Phillips (born December 21, 1992) is an American singer-songwriter, recording artist, and musician from San Diego, California. Early life and education Phillips began playing piano at a young age. In junior high school, he started playing the electric guitar with help and guidance from his father Charles Phillips and his uncle, Ralph Frengel. Prior to finishing high school, Phillips performed session work in various studios and on artist projects, as well as touring with other musical artists.
