
Matheo Tollis de la Rocca (Italy?, c . 1710 – Mexico City (Mexico), 18.XI.1780) was a musician, harpsichordist, organist, chapel master of the Cathedral of Mexico, composer. The first news about him refers to his stay, very young, in Madrid. There is reasonable doubt as to whether he was born in Italy (according to R. Stevenson, 2001-2002) or in Spain (according to J. Koegel, 2002). He was probably, young, in Madrid, author of the music of the opera La casandra
