Mary Had a Little Band is de band rondom singer/songwriter en pianiste Marianne Oldenburg. Als kind zette Marianne haar gedachten al om in liedjes voor familie en vrienden, maar pas rond haar twintigste konden ook anderen hun oor te luister leggen. Na vele solo optredens werd het tijd voor wat gezelligheid; ze ontmoette drummer Otto de Jong (Swelter), gitarist Tobias Kerkhoven en bassist Laurens Knoop, wat in eind 2007 uitmondde in de geboorte van Mary Had a Little Band.
