
Mark Snow (August 26, 1946 – July 3, 2025) was an American composer for film and television, best known for his work with The X-Files. Born Martin Fulterman in New York City, New York on August 26, 1946, Snow grew up in the borough of Brooklyn, graduating from the High School of Music and Art (1964) and, afterwards, the Juilliard School of Music. He was a co-founder of the New York Rock & Roll Ensemble. Snow also composed the score for the television movie Dirty Pictures, the series Smallville and One Tree Hill.
