Mariam Sattarova is an maqam singer from Uzbekistan. She comes from Shahri-sabz, south of Samarkand. After solid classical training at the Tashkent Conservatory with masters such as Fattah Khan Mamadaliev and Alimaqsumov, she became one of the most acclaimed singers. Her brilliant and florid style and the soft timbre of her voice are perfect for the lively parts of the maqam, such as mughulcha, saqi-nama, etc.
