She had a band called Margot and the Tornadoes who performed in the same clubs as many of the Motown artists and musicians like the Kit Kat Lounge and the 20 Grand. She is the cousin of Sugar Chile Robinson, a child prodigy in the late 1940's and early 1950's. Margot and the Tornadoes appeared in the June 1971 issue of Ebony Magazine with Sugar Chile.
