About Marcelo Settimio
Marcelo Settimio (Valencia, ? - Segorbe, April 27, 1655) was a Spanish composer and master of chapel. There is very little known about Marcelo Settimio before his arrival at the Cathedral of Segorbe as a chapel master. It is known that he came from the city of Valencia and that his musical formation was in his cathedral, under the teaching of Juan Bautista Comes. It is known that he had a brother, Félix Settimio, who was hired as a singer of the chapel of Segorbe in 1641.
