Luxmi Manel Illangakoon Jayasena was wife of veteran Sri Lankan artist Henry Jayasena and Mother to Sudaraka Jayasena. Manel born on November 23, 1938, after her student days at the Holy Family Convent, Bambalapitiya, came to stage at age of 25, with Kuveni in 1963, and won the award for her excellent performance at the State Drama Festival.
