MAKAYA, named after one of Haiti highest mountains, is an essentially instrumental world-jazz quintet based in Montréal - http://soundcloud.com/makaya Winner of the bronze medal in the first edition of the Syli d'Or World Music competition (Productions Nuits d'Afrique, on 2007), and finalist in Grand Prix of Jazz TD within the framework of the Montreal International Jazz Festival of 2010, the quintet Makaya releases a first eponymic record (2009), confirming that he represents effectively "a real hope of Creole jazz" (Yves Bernard, Le Devoir)
