About Madcap Laughs
Madcap Laughs was a music project by Belarusian musician and producer Egor Gerasenko (also known as qumcl, qulicker, qu12). Active between 2022 and 2024, the project marked Gerasenko’s early exploration of experimental electronic soundscapes. The name Madcap Laughs references Syd Barrett’s 1970 solo album, reflecting a spirit of fragile psychedelia and raw emotional honesty. However, Gerasenko reinterpreted the concept through his own lens, blending influences from lo-fi, ambient textures, industrial noises, and DIY aesthetics.
