About Lonny Starr
Lonny Starr was born in Brooklyn, NY. Forever a musician, he had a creative awakening during the four years he spent living in Christiansted, in the U.S. Virgin Islands. It was there he began to write his most interesting and tuneful material. His band from the VI played alongside him for a number of years, coming stateside with him and playing a number of gigs in the NYC area. Lonny Starr's band, talented as they were, accompanied the Mighty Sparrow, the premier Calypsonian, on at least one of his worldwide tours.
