About Long Way Blues
Long Way Blues was founded in 1976 by frontman Willem van Houten, who in the early years had guitar lessons from the then-famous guitarist Ted Oberg of Livin’ Blues. He decided to form The Long Way Blues band with a few friends. In 1978, a number of performances were given in the Netherlands with the legendary English band The Pretty Things. American blues pianist Champion Jack Dupree invited the band to play a few songs with him at the Alkmaar Blues Festival in 1979,
