About Lit by Lightning
Lit By Lightning was a California East Bay band formed in 2008 by the merging of two existing Bay Area bands, the Grace Woods Trio and Vanessa Van Spall. Both prior bands were largely piano driven pop, but whereas the Grace Woods Trio had jazz and theater influences and Vanessa Van Spall had more singer-songwriter roots, Lit By Lightning had a more driven and upbeat pop appeal, adding electric guitar and lush synth layers to the mix, giving the band a more power pop and dance edge.
